Polymer Sound Insulation Felt - SoundBox

F15 / F30 / F10E / F20E

Polymer Sound Insulation Felt

Suitable for ship engine rooms and passenger cabins, metal carriage floors and body padding of rail vehicles, cockpits/passenger cabins of aircraft, battle vehicles, car engines, and driver's cabs, etc.

  • Product Description:

IIR polymer sound insulation felt has no material resonant frequency. The thin, high-quality material is bonded to the housings of mechanical equipment and engine covers, providing significant noise control and vibration absorption. Its development meets the active sound insulation needs of power compartments in industrial equipment and transportation machinery, as well as the passive sound insulation requirements for wind noise and vibration within the enclosure. Polymer sound insulation felt fully utilizes the mass law and damping principle of architectural acoustic materials to effectively absorb and block noise transmitted through the building structure via walls, ceilings, and floors. Its strong damping and surface density greatly improve the sound insulation of the raw material. When laminated onto the surface of materials such as gypsum board and plywood, it increases the original material's structural sound insulation by 10-15 dB (refer to laboratory test reports).

  • Specification:

    F15 - 9000mm (L) x 610mm (W) x 1.5mm (T) 、F30 - 4000mm (L) x 610mm (W) x 3.0mm (T) 、F10E - 12000mm (L) x 610mm (W) x 1.0mm (T) 、F20E - 6000mm (L) x 610mm (W) x 2.0mm (T)

  • Weight:

    F15 - Surface density 3kg/m² (18.47kg/roll), single roll area 5.49㎡ F30 - Surface density 6kg/m² (15.41kg/roll), single roll area 2.44㎡ F10E - Surface density 2kg/m² (18.21kg/roll), single roll area 7.32㎡ F20E - Surface density 4kg/m² (16.82kg/roll), single roll area 3.66㎡

  • Feature:

Polymer sound insulation felt possesses excellent fire resistance, temperature resistance, elasticity, flexibility, and tensile strength. It can be cut using tools such as utility knives and scissors. For building sound insulation, it can be fixed using staples or adhesive. For mechanical equipment installation, it can be integrated with sheet metal structures using clips or adhesive. It is a convenient and easy-to-install material, suitable for various shapes, structures, and spaces.

  • Application:

Soundproof Doors: Its layered, lightweight structure suppresses panel resonance frequency to increase Transmission Loss (TL) without significant bulk or weight. Piping: Improves the sound insulation and noise reduction performance when wrapping water supply and drainage (PVC) pipes. Sound Barriers: The soft composite base layer intercepts remaining sound transmission through barrier cavities.

  • Advantage:

No ozone-depleting substances – reduce emissions during formation. Free of lead and odor-causing oils Easy to cut, glue, crack, nail or mechanically composite Safe to burn, self-extinguishing after removing the flame, no dripping Resistant to water, oil and harsh weather conditions Adaptability, high tensile strength and tear resistance Compatible with irregular shapes Can be laminated with different materials such as sheet, metal, fiber or polyester
